Udupi, Oct 12: A nine-day theatre festival "Navarangotsava", a cultural ensemble organized by ‘Nama Tuluvera Kala Sanghatane' will be held at Mudrady village near Hiriyadka here, starting from Saturday October 13, informed Dr H Shantharam, president of the Sanghatane, to media persons here on Thursday, October 11.
Addressing the press conference, Dr Shantharam stated that drama troupes from various parts of the state will present plays at the fest. Suresh Anagalli, director, Regional Resource Centre of National School of Drama (NSD), Bangalore, would be inaugurating the fest on October 13, while Srinivas G Kannappa, president, Karnataka Nataka Academy, would preside over the valedictory function on October 20.
The aim of the "Navarangotsava" fest would be to take the best plays to people in rural areas. The Sanghatane would arrange free bus services at 6 pm from Hebri to Mudrady village during the fest and from Muniyal to Mudrady at 6.45 pm. Moreover, everyday after the end of the programme, free return bus services on the same route will be made available, informed Dr Shantharam.
Sukumar Mohan, president of the Sanghatane and Dharmayogi Mohan, director, were present at the meet.
