Udupi, Apr 16: "Anwar Manippady, former chairman of Karnataka State Minorities Commission, had submitted a report running into 7,000 pages about irregularities said to have been committed relating to management of Wakf properties. As per the opinion of legal experts, the ruling party had been asked to table the report, and the law minister had agreed for the same. I thought that the report might be tables on the last day of the previous session. But the government overlooked my ruling and dithered from presenting the report. We have contacted the advocate general on this issue, and the governor was contacted with relevant papers. We will soon meet the governor and discuss the steps taken," said chairman of Karnataka state legislative council, D H Shankaramurthy.

He was speaking to media persons during his visit to MLC, Kota Srinivas Poojary's home on Friday April 15.

"I am not insisting on the tabling of the said report under pressure from the opposition. I am following it up as per the advice of legal experts. I am confident that the report will be presented at the next session," he said.
