Udupi: Bicycle rider killed in accident on highway

Udupi, Apr 16: In an incident which occurred on Friday April 15 morning on national highway 66 at Yermal village near Padubidri, a man who was riding his bicycle was knocked down by a tempo which came from behind. The man lost his life in this accident.

Nagesh (35), residing near Naraltaya shrine in Tenka Yermal in the district, got up at 5 am on Friday as was his practice. He went by bicycle to a hotel by the side of the highway at Yermal for tea. He was returning home, when a tempo dashed against his vehicle.

Nagesh suffered serious injuries in the accident. He died on the way to hospital. He is survived by his wife and two daughters. A case stands registered at Padubidri police station, and investigation has been taken up.
