BJP names candidates for Delhi municipal bypolls


New Delhi, April 17 (IANS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday announced its candidates for by-elections in 13 wards of Delhi's three municipal bodies. The polling will take place on May 15.

Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay announced the following names: Anil Sinha (Quamurruddin Nagar), Bhupendra Mohan Bhandari (Shalimar Bagh North), Mahender Nagpal (Wazirpur), Nitin Tiwari (Ballimaran), Sunil Jindal (Vikas Nagar), Krishan Gehlot (Nawada), Ashok Sharma (Matiala), Sudesh Tokas (Munirka), Nitin Sharma (Nanakpura), Ishwar Singh Pradhan (Bhati), Sunil Bidhuri (Tehkhand), Vinod Kumar Binny (Khichripur) and Jitender Singh Shunty (Jhilmil).

The last date for filing nominations is April 25. The candidates can withdraw their names by April 30. The vote count will be held on May 17.
