IPL: Pune win toss, to bat first against Punjab


Mohali, April 17 (IANS): Rising Pune Supergiants won the toss and elected to bat first in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Kings Xi Punjab at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium here on Sunday.

Pune, who are in their debut season in the IPL, have had a decent start to their campain. They thrashed defending champions Mumbai Indians by nine wickets in the tournament opener before going down by seven wickets to fellow IPL debutants Gujarat Lions.

Punjab, on the other hand, have endured a poor start as they were beaten comprehensively in both their matches and are at the bottom of the points table.
