Mangaluru, Apr 21: The congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany, Mangaluru held the celebration of perpetual profession on Wednesday April 20 at Rosa Mystica Convent, Kinnikambla.
Twelve sisters made their final profession and offered themselves forever in the service of the Lord.
Dr Aloysius Paul D’souza, bishop of Mangaluru officiated at the Eucharist along with thirteen priests.
The bishop exhorted the sisters quoting the words of Pope John Paul II "The essence of religious life is to love Jesus and to live in communion with Him".
Sr Rose Celine, the superior general accepted their vows in the name of the church. She felicitated them for their courageous step to carry the light of Christ to the ends of the earth.
"We congratulate them for their daring 'yes' and their faithfulness to God. Indeed Bethany is grateful to God for the gift of 45 tertians who will make their final commitment at various parts of our country during these days," stated the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany in a press note.
