'Vocal Touch' voice workshop organized by Udupi diocese

Udupi, Apr 23: Communications Centre of the Udupi Diocese on April 16, 17 and 18 held 'Vocal Touch' a voice workshop at the church hall, Udupi. The workshop was enthusiastically attended by 57 participants of various age groups from 14 parishes of the diocese. Conducted ably by the specialist vocal coach of Melodia Voice Studio, Dubai, Jossie Moras, who flew in just for the purpose, it was attended by representatives of Udupi,Moodubelle, Kuntalnagar, Milagres, Mount Rosary, Kundapur, Gangolli, Barkur, Brahmavar, Udyavar, Pangala, Attur, Tallur and Pernal parishes.








Aimed at training the budding singers and directors of choirs with practical exercises, the workshop was inaugurated by Fr Fred Mascarenhas, the parish priest and dean of Udupi. The finale was presided over by Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, bishop of Udupi, with Fr Fred Mascarenhas as the chief guest. Fr Fred appreciated the efforts of the Udupi Communications Centre in organizing such a useful voice training camp with the expert guidance by Jossie Moras.

The bishop distributed the Certificates of Participation to all the participants and encouraged the budding singers to continue their practice and improve the quality of their singing. The participants expressed the desire to have a three-full-day training session during the next year. Ancilla Saldanha compered the Inaugural and Shaila Fernandes the Finale. Fr Valerian Mendonca, Director of Udupi Communications Centre, thanked all who cooperated in making the Voice Workshop very fruitful.
