Good scripts over roles for Taraka Ratna

Chennai, April 25 (IANS): Actor Taraka Ratna will be seen as a villain in the forthcoming Telugu actioner "Raja Cheyyi Vesthe". He says he has decided to give importance to good scripts over roles.

"I've made some bad choices as a hero. I signed most projects that came my way and hence failed in the process. However, right now, my focus is on picking good scripts. I don't even mind playing a villain in a good project," Taraka told IANS.

This is not the first time he's playing the antagonist.

Last time when he played the villain in the 2009 Telugu thriller "Amaravathi", he won the state award for his performance.

"It was director Ravi Babu who convinced me to take up the role in 'Amaravathi'. This time, producer Sai Korrapati convinced me to play this negative character. When you compare this role with the last one I did, you'll find they're poles apart," he said.

Directed by Pradeep, the film also stars Nara Rohith and Isha Talwar.
