Kundapur, Apr 28: An elderly man died as a consequence of falling into a roadside pit on Wednesday April 27 at Thekkatte near here.
Chandrashekar Shetty (65) is the person deceased.
As captured in the CCTV images of a garment shop, Chandrashekar fell into the pit on Tuesday late night. The pit was dug to fix name board. The depth of the pit was 3 feet. The pit was not covered from outside nor there was any warning sign nearby.
Shetty who fell into the pit could not come out.
Police came to the spot and retrieved the body. People said there are some other such pits found in the area.
