Life OK channel to felicitate people fighting crime

Mumbai, April 29 (IANS): To mark four-year celebration of TV show “Savdhaan India”, the entertainment channel Life OK will be felicitating individuals who are working towards making India crime-free.

The channel has announced the Savdhaan India Samman to commemorate the completion of four years of the show on April 23. The show brings real-life based crime stories on the small screen. The entries for the awards were called from April 15. The felicitation ceremony will go on air on June 18, read a statement.

A spokesperson of the channel confirmed the news.

“As the show completes four glorious years, we are delighted to announce the launch of ‘Savdhaan India Samman’ awards. These awards will felicitate and honour people from daily walks of life who have worked towards creating safer societies, communities and most importantly keeping their own families safe from crime,” said the spokesperson.

The show is hosted by actor Sushant Singh since the time it went on air, and actress Divya Dutta came on board in November last year.

Sushant says with the show he “feels like I’m playing my part of a good citizen by highlighting these problems. I hope to continue being associated with the show as I feel connected to the cause we take up in each episode”.

Divya also shared that she is “honoured and proud to be a part of it”.
