Honnavar, Apr 29: Fifteen sisters belonging to the congregation of sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany made their final profession at St Joseph’s Church, Lower Kasargod in Karwar District on Friday April 22, at the Eucharistic celebration which was solemnly officiated by Dr Derek Fernandes, bishop of Karwar diocese. The presence of vicar general Fr Simon Tellis and other large number of priests and religious was indeed remarkable.
In his homily, the bishop highlighted the importance of abiding in Jesus always since the branches are united to the tree. He was delighted to know about the large number of vocations to Bethany from Karwar diocese. Parish priest Fr Denis OFM Cap expressed his joy over their choosing the better part and appreciated the sacrificing spirit of their loving parents. Superior general, Sr Rose Celine, accepted the vows in the name of the church and welcomed them as full-fledged members of the congregation as the perpetual professed sisters and encouraged them to live a committed life till the end by accepting the daily crosses for the love of Jesus.
