Puttur, Apr 30: The rider of a motor bike lost his life after hitting a pick-up truck from behind. The incident occurred on Mani-Mysuru highway at Kaudichchar in Ariyadka village on the night of Thursday April 28.
Pradeep (23), son of Lingappa Naik from Malettody in Koltige village lost his life in this incident.
Sampya police personnel had camped near Kaudichchar on Mani-Mysuru highway. They signalled a pick-up truck bearing No. KA21A 3189 that was moving towards Sullia to stop. When the driver of the vehicle was moving his vehicle to the edge of the road to stop, a Hero Honda motor bike being driven by Pradeep hit the vehicle from behind.
Pradeep suffered serious injuries to his head in the accident. Sampya police carried him in their jeep to a private hospital at Puttur. From there, he was being taken to Mangaluru for advanced treatment, when he lost his life.
