Mangalore, Oct 18: The distribution of insurance policies to the members of Navodaya Self Help Groups was held at SCDCC Bank, Molahalli Shiva Rao Memorial Hall on Tuesday October 16.
Speaking on this occasion, M N Rajendra Kumar, president of Navodaya Gram Vikas Charitable Trust, said that the Navodaya Trust has been working for the social and economic welfare of the rural and backward people. But the health issue and life risk of these people can’t be neglected. That is why the insurance scheme has been introduced for the members of Navodaya Self Help Groups, he informed.
P Isakkirajan, marketing manager of Udupi division LIC, inaugurated the programme. Later he informed that former president A P J Abdul Kalam, launched Jeevan Madhur scheme for poor people. Hence the same scheme has been introduced for the members of Navodaya Self Help Groups, he informed.
“We see God in the smiles of these poor people. More than that we will be the partners of progress in the entire country,” Isakkirajan said.
P Narayan Kamath, executive director of SCDCC and T S Mallikarjun, manager of Micro Insurance, Udupi division were the chief guests of the occasion.
Navodaya Gram Vikas Charitable Trust trustees Bhaskar Kotian, Yekkar Monappa Shetty and others were present on this occasion.
Vidyavati led prayers. Poornima Shetty welcomed the gathering.
