Saudi Arabia, Oct 19: An Eid Koota to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr was organized by Karnataka Salafi Association (KSA) Dammam-Khobar unit at Al-Khobar Islamic Center’s Iftar Tent in Al-Khobar here recently.
For the first time the Muslims of Karnataka organized such an immense event in the history of Saudi Arabia. More than 600 people gathered at the programme.
Munir Qamar and Muhammad Alam Madani, lecturers of Urdu unit, Dammam Islamic Cultural Center and Muhammad Asif Karnire of KSA, Jubail unit were the chief guests.
Haidal Ullal of KSA Dammam-Khobar unit was the chairperson of the event. The programme commenced with the Qira’ath of Adil Ibn Hassn Bawa. Ashraf Ali Ujire of KSA Jubail unit welcomed the gathering. He delivered a speech on “The Message of Qur’an”.
Abdul Majeed S M of KSA Dammam-Khobar unit compered the programme, later he spoke on the subject “Prayer”. Concluding speech was delivered by Haidar Ullal.
Abdul Raheem of KSA Dammam-Khobar unit introduced the agenda of Karnataka Salafi Association.
Various competitions were organized where Qira’ath (recitation of Qur’an) competition was arranged for small children and adults participated in singing and speech competition.
Special arrangements were made for the ladies and they participated in Qira’ath and speech competitions.
A quiz contest was conducted and prizes were distributed to the winners at the end of the programme. Prizes for winners of soora fathiha exam and Ramadan quiz were also distributed which was held during the month of Ramadan.
Delicious Indian food was served at the end. Aboobakar Ahmed, vice-president, KSA Dammam-Khobar unit proposed the vote of thanks.
