Kundapur, May 3: Falcon Club near Kannukere Thekkatte, well known in sports and social service activities from the last 25 years, has conducted several programmes for the poor and weak. The group recently constructed a bus stand in the home town in memory of a friend and donated an ambulance to Spoorthidhama organization functioning near Thekkatte for the last several years. The inauguration of the ambulance was held near Kannukere Mosque on Sunday evening, May 1.
Kundapur block Congress president Malyadi Shivarma Shetty inaugurated the ambulance and said that the development of a town is possible only when youth of the town is united. “In this direction, the social work of Kannukere Falcon Club is commendable. We have the responsibility of preserving Kannada medium schools. Children from different places attend Thekkatte Kuvempu model school. As they arrive from distant places, they depend on bus and auto rickshaws. They can ill afford it. Provision of a transport facility will help in preserving the Kannada school,” he said.
Kundapur constituency president Rajesh Kaveri handed over the key of the ambulance to the organization.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, “We can please the Almighty by doing such noble work. The development projects by the government should reach the poor people. United effort is necessary to make sure that the help reaches the last person in the community. All the things do not lead to betterment. There can also be injustice. However a person with a sporting mind accepts everything equally and bears with it. Falcon Club which has grown as a sports organization has also grown as pro society organization.”
Businessman from Qatar, Asmat Ali and businessman Karamathualla Sattar speaking on the occasion said that the work of Falcon club regardless of religion is commendable. “The support from donors and residents of the town is necessary for their noble cause,” they said.
Spoorthidhama organization chief executive Keshava Kotian speaking on the occasion said that society becomes unstable when we do not have adequate ambulance services. “Though the ambulance is donated by Falcon to Spoorthidhama, it will be available during all the emergencies elsewhere also.”
Social worker Ibrahim Gangolli, blood donor Muneer Malpe, army man Ravichandra Shetty and Falcon Club president Mohammed Salam were honoured on the occasion.
Kannukere Falcon Club founder president Hidayuthulla presided over the programme. Bengaluru businessman Karamathula Abdul Sattar, S Mayyaddi, B A Hamza, Abdul Gani, Shoukat Ali, Kannukere Al Madina Jamia Masjid president Shanawaz Abdul Gani, Thekkatte Friends Thekkatte convener Prakash Shetty, SMNC (UAE) president Abdul Khader, Secretary Imran Sheikh, leader Malyadi Rajiv Shetty, Gopal Puranik, Hmza Mohammed Beary, Abdul Samad, Hasanar Kodi, Phiroz K M F Sameer Shajuddin Saheb and others were present.
Falcon Club president Mohammed Salam gave a key note address. Lecturer Akshaya Hegde Molahalli compered, welcomed and proposed the vote of thanks.
