Le 1s Eco smartphone to come packed with movies, TV shows


Mumbai, May 3 (IANS): Chinese internet and technology conglomerate LeEco on Tuesday launched a supertainment package that includes Le 1s Eco smartphone and a one-year content membership where the user can watch movies and TV shows on the device.

Called the ecosystem membership programme, the announcement was made in collaboration with Eros Now, YuppTV and Hungama.

For the first flash sale on the e-tailer Flipkart at 2 p.m. on May 12, LeEco will offer the supertainment package at Rs.9,999. The registrations will begin from 2 p.m. on May 3, the company said in a statement.

“Indian consumers can now enjoy over 2,000 movie titles through our feature 'Le Vidi,' over 100 TV channels via 'Le Live' and 2.5 million music tracks under the LeEco membership,” said William Lee, content vice president at LeEco (APAC).

Live and Le Vidi will be available to all new Le 1s Eco users. Existing LeEco Superphone users can expect a software upgrade this month. 

“Le 1s Eco will redefine entertainment in the country. With this blockbuster superphone, we live up to our promise of offering the best value, breakthrough technology and great features at a disruptive price,” added Atul Jain, COO, smart electronics business, LeEco India.

LeEco also announced partnership with Hungama Music, India’s largest on-demand music destination, as its music service.
