13 killed in DR Congo attack


Kinshasa, May 4 (IANS): At least 13 people were killed in Beni territory of Congo by suspected members of Ugandan rebel group Allied Democratic Forces (ADF).

A non-governmental organisation led by human rights advocate Omar Kavota said the ADF rebels invaded Mimibo and Mutsonge localities in Beni on Tuesday, Xinhua news agency reported.

The place of the attack was situated about 200 metres from a camp of the UN Mission for Stabilisation of Congo (MONUSCO), a statement from the organisation said.
