Not ready for reality shows: Somya Seth

Mumbai, May 5 (IANS): Actress Somya Seth, best known for her roles in TV shows like “Navya... Naye Dhadkan Naye Sawaal” and “Yeh Hai Aashiqui”, says she is “not ready” to take part in a reality show as she is not ready to showcase her personal life on-screen.

“Reality shows talk about being the real person in front of the camera and showing your real self to the whole world. I feel the real version of me is just for my family and private people. I can do it, but I don’t want everybody to know me. I’m not ready for reality shows,” Somya told IANS.

Somya is currently seen as Princess Kaurwaki in popular historical “Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat”.

This is the first time that Somya is starring in a historical show, where unlike other TV serials, she has to don heavy costumes and jewellery.

Despite complaining about her costumes, Somya says her new look has helped her become more “active and healthy".

“See the more comfortable you get, the lazier you become. The more difficult it (costume) is for you, the more active and healthy you are going to be. So with a heavy costume that I wear in ‘Ashoka’, I have to sit straight. If I’ll try to lean a bit, then it starts hurting me in various ways," Somya said.

“So I don’t want to sit in a lean manner. So it’s so good for me and I feel like a princess all the time. I’m happy whatever this is bringing in because my whole body moves in a certain way with it. It’s changing my whole body language, which is amazing,” she added.

“Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat”, which airs on Colors, stars “Devon Ke Dev... Mahadev” fame actor Mohit Raina in the title role.
