Sunny days ahead in Jammu and Kashmir


Srinagar, May 6 (IANS): After three days of inclement weather, Jammu and Kashmir is set to see sunny days, the Met office said on Friday.

"We are expecting fair weather across the state from Friday for the next three days although there could be isolated rains at some places," a Met department official told IANS.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 18.9 degrees Celsius in Jammu city on Friday, four degrees below the season's average.

"The minimum temperature was 18.8 degrees Celsius in Katra, 11.1 in Batote, 13.2 in Bannihal, 7.2 in Bhaderwah and 16.1 degrees Celsius in Udhampur," the official said.

In the Kashmir Valley, the minimum temperature was recorded at 9.9 degrees Celsius in Srinagar, 1.8 in Gulmarg and 3.5 degrees Celsius in Pahalgam.

In Ladakh region, Leh town recorded 8.1 degrees and Kargil 4.6 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.
