Mangaluru: New road in Kandak named after B Mohiudeen Haji

Mangaluru, May 7: A new road at Kandak, here has been named after late B Mohiudeen Haji, father of late Hassan Hajee and B Ahmed Hajee Mohiudeen, chairman of B A Group India and grandfather of Thumbay Moideen, founder president of Thumbay Group UAE, to commemorate his active participation and matchless contributions to the growth and progress of the area. U T Khadar, minister for health and family welfare, Karnataka, formally announced the naming of ‘B Mohiudeen Haji Road’ at a special function held at Thumbay Hills, Bantwal on Sunday May 1.




The function was also graced by the esteemed presence of Ramanatha Rai - minister for forests, ecology and environment of Karnataka, B Ahmed Hajee Mohiudeen, Thumbay Moideen and several other important dignitaries.

Ramanatha Rai and U T Khadar also handed over the ‘Token of Appreciation’ awards to Abdulla Kunhi Baikara, Yenepoya Mohammed Kunhi, B Mohideen Hasan Hajee and Haji C Mahmood, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to community development. Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi and K E Faizal were presented with ‘Senior Achiever of the Year’ and ‘Young Achiever of the Year’ awards respectively, to recognize their unique contributions to community development.

Among the ladies, the ‘Token of Appreciation’ was awarded to Beefathima Ahmed Haji, Ayesha Abdulla Kunhi Chunge and Nafeesath Beebi by Zohra Moideen Thumbay, Nousheen Salma and Shabana Faizal, respectively. The function was followed by lunch.
