Udupi, May 9: A woman riding the pillion of a motor bike lost her life in an unfortunate accident which occurred near Syndicate Circle, Manipal, on Sunday May 8.
The victim has been identified as Shakuntala Acharya (45), wife of Raghava Acharya from Kukkehali near Perdoor.
Raghava Acharya had attended a function organized on Sunday at Gayatri Kalyana Mantap, Kunjibettu here along with his wife. He was returning home in his motor bike with his wife in the pillion. When the couple were near Syndicate Circle Manipal, a bus hit their vehicle from behind. Shakuntala, who suffered grievous injuries in the accident, was immediately taken to a hospital. However, she breathed her last before she got medical assistance.
