Rajya Sabha member complains of 'rude' behaviour of SPG

New Delhi, May 11 (IANS): Rajya Sabha member T. Subbarami Reddy on Wednesday said the SPG has been "behaving rudely" with MPs and sought action from the government on the issue.

Reddy also said he has submitted a privilege notice on the matter.

"I have submitted a privilege notice on the rude behaviour of SPG towards members of parliament," Reddy said.

"They have been instructed strictly that they must show curtesy to MPs. Though they are doing their duty, government should give instruction to SPG people to show respect to MPs," the Congress member said.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member Subramanian Swamy however stood up and said that Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi also have Special Protection Group (SPG) cover.

The house then took up the zero hour.
