PM greets citizens on National Technology Day


New Delhi, May 11 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday greeted the people on National Technology Day and said the use of technology should be increased to bring a positive difference in society.

"Best wishes to all citizens, especially our outstanding scientists and technology enthusiasts on National Technology Day," the prime minister said in a statement. 

"Lets further increase the use of technology in our daily lives and use technology to bring a positive difference in our society. Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan! ”, he added.

National Technology Day is celebrated on May 11 every year since 1999. The day commemorates three important advancements on that day in 1999. The first Indigenous Aircraft, the Hansa-3 took flight in Bangalore. India test detonated three nuclear devices in Pokhran, Rajasthan. It was also the day India test fired the short range surface to air missile and anti sea skimmer Trishul, and inducted it into service.
