Will take legal steps against Modi's barb: Chandy

Kochi, May 12 (IANS) : The Kerala government will now take legal steps against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for comparing the state with Somalia, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said on Thursday.

Addressing a hurriedly-called press conference here, Chandy said he had hoped that Modi would withdraw his remark that came in for widespread criticism in the state.

The comparison, he said, "has affected Kerala and the people of our state in a big way.

"Since his statement came at an election rally, we are looking at the legal aspects on how we can approach the Election Commission", the Congress leader said.

Chandy said the latest Human Development Index ranked Kerala as the number one state while Modi's home state Gujarat was at the 11th place.

"He is the prime minister of the country. He is not just a BJP leader to demean our state. He perhaps forgot that Kerala is a part of India. It has really hurt Kerala and Keralaites."

Modi said on Sunday that the child death ratio among tribals in Kerala was scarier than even Somalia.

He also cited media reports to say that tribal children in Peravoor were seen foraging for food in a garbage dump - to make his case that the state had not been properly governed.

Ever since Modi made the remark, the social media has been flooded by the "PoMoneModi" hashtag which takes its origin from a hugely popular film dialogue of superstar Mohanlal. Loosely translated, it means: "Get lost."

Former chief minister A.K. Antony also asked Modi to apologize for the remarks.

"Somalia is known as a land of pirates and Modi just can't go without apologizing," he said.

CPI-M general secretary Sitaram Yechuri, who is camping in the state, accused Modi of defaming Kerala and its people.

The BJP, which has never won an assembly or Lok Sabha seat in Kerala, has been making a valiant attempt to defend Modi.

Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers H.N. Ananth Kumar told reporters here that Modi won't react to controversies.

"Chandy is trying to use this to deviate from issues. The sentence that should be used is 'PoMoneChandy'," said Kumar.

"Modi left Kochi last night without withdrawing his remarks. Malayalees all over the world are upset over the remarks of the PM," Chandy said in a Facebook post earlier.

Modi ne mallu ke saath panga Ilya. Now BJP will not get even few votes in Kerala. Maliyalis are self respected people. They don't tolerate someone teases them or their state. For them culture come first then religion. They don't play religion card like bjp. Onam is a festival that resembles their true culture which celebrated by all irrespective of religion. Modiji, pls don't break their unity.

God has given natural beauty to Kerala to be called Gods own country but these lungi politicians of Pomone Chandy made it a hell. There are no jobs,no proper medical care, no schools. Kerala economy totally depend upon Gulf. All educated Keralites go out of Kerala to work. Tourists when they land in Kerala they think Kerala is in Africa seeing the tied up lungi clad people queuing in front of wine shops(now prohibited). Keralites have real patience to tolerate these corrupt politicians who have brain washed them with Marxist ideas. Now Keralites specially Hindus have realised how Congress and left parties kept them in dark. This pomone Chandy anti Modi propoganda will help BJP to come to power with full Majority.

“Yahan Kerala ki janjaati, janta, ST Scheduled Tribe, usmey jo child death ratio hai, Somalia se bhi sthiti khatarnaak hai… Abhi kuchh din pehle… media mein dardnaak chitra dekhney ko mila…Jo Communist party ka qila maana jaata hai, jahaan voh hamesha jeet-ti hai, us Peravoor mein Scheduled Tribe ke baalak koode ke dher mein bhojan talaash kar rahe hain, yeh media mein prakaashit hua hai,” Modi said.

(“The situation with the child death ratio among Scheduled Tribes in Kerala is scarier than even Somalia. Recently, one came across a tragic picture in the media. In Peravoor, which is seen as a stronghold of the Communist party, where it has always won, there, Scheduled Tribe children were seen foraging for food in a garbage dump… it has appeared in the media.”)

Why cant Chandy just encash Modi's mistake instead of going for legal steps ?
Narayana Guru of Kerala rebelled against Vaidik (Hindutva) traditions and opened the eyes of Ezava Community and taught them self-respect. But Modi told that Narayana Guru was the staunch supporter of Vaidik (Hindutva) traditions. This also an insult heaped by Modi on Narayana Guru and entire Elava community. Why no one from UDF or LDF dwelling on this point to garner Ezava votes?

Instead of talking rubbish & doing stupid things, i think Kerala CM should explain his achievements to the people of his state. How many thousands jobs created, how many Industries, what is the welfare for the people? I think there is absolutely nothing in achievement except corruption. If People of Kerala really educated they will sure vote for BJP for development, Industrialization or else same thing only protests, corruption, employment in Gulf & other Indian Cities, big empty houses. Does educated state of Kerala gave any employment to the people from other states? Educated but what is the use???

In Kerala, There are no jobs because of not having big industries. Keralites have to depend mostly on Gulf jobs. If they have to come back from gulf, It will be worst than Somalia.Even hospitals are less compare to Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.Lacking in health industry is main cause high infants death rate. Since the foreign trips are getting slower and less, he wanted to see the different States and when he saw Kerala while drinking his sea which was too strong so he was totally confused due to the caffeine attack, thus the great memory of Somalia popped up, and delivered without thinking that he was in Kerala. He simply say an apology, but if he is too proud to say that, that will backfire on him by the BJP electorate of Kerala itself. I have written dozens of comments imploring the BJP supporters of Kerala that the north Indian made BJP will terribly destroy the well reputed religious harmony history of Kerala.

Now, they got a warning from the deity itself.

Perhaps, this is the beginning of Mr. Modi's apology parade from the perpetual foreign journey.

Based on the 2014 report of the United nation, the poverty level of Gujarat was 41%, far above the national average of India which was 33% living with $ 1.25/day or less. Through other studies, during the tenure of his three term golden day rule of Gujarat, the poverty level has greatly increased and the growth was declined. What a wonder, he saw exactly Somalia in Kerala!!!!!!!!!

The very colorful and glorious "make in India" show in Mumbai ended up in hours through the specially arrived Arabian sea winds to dance with the stars, they did the dancing for hours and the movie stars had to run for their lives. What a show it was?

Well, the CM of Maharastra will have to answer before the CREATOR certain things.

The vast majority of the people who lost their jobs by the thousands are from the Muslim community through closing their business in the meat industry of Maharastra.
Their tears have reached the Supreme court up.

The poor farmers lost their income through selling the old cattle and buying young the vast majority of the crying poor farmers are from Hindu religion. Their tears have gone up to the Supreme court.

All religious people enjoy the low priced high protean beef that was taken away from their plates through playing politics of autocracy. Their tears have gone upward at the Supreme court.

Wait and watch the real show yet to come!
