Mangalore, Oct 25: Shailesh Gandhi, a social activist will arrive in Puttur on Friday November 2, to address and bring awareness among the people of vicinity about Right to Information Act (RTA), which can prove useful for the public, informed Raghunath Rao, president, Puttur Rotary Club, at a press conference here on Thursday October 25.
He will deliver lecture and interact with people on November 2 at Okkaliga Gowda Seva Sangha, Puttur at 6 pm, he added
He further said that today people live in a system that has lost control over development within it. For instance looking at the pathetic conditions of roads, engineers say that no contractor comes forward to carry out public works. But contractors say the authorities concerned will not release the amount on time, he added.
This is just an example. It is public who must be held responsible for the absence of mutual cooperation. The talk by Gandhi will guide us to get rid off such problems forever, he informed.
Prabhakar, Lions Club and Umesh Achar, secretary, Rotary Club, Puttur were present at the pres meet.
