Kunal Kapoor asks people to help Maharashtra's drought-hit villages

Mumbai, May 16 (IANS): Actor Kunal Kapoor, who came face-to-face with the situation in a drought-hit village of Maharashtra, has urged the public to do their bit in helping to alleviate the problem.

"I visited one of Maharashtra's drought-hit villages on the weekend. And guys, the situation is far worse than you can imagine. A lot of villages have absolutely no water, people are forced to walk miles and queue for hours in the scorching heat to fetch a little water," Kunal wrote on his Instagram on Monday.

The "Rang De Basanti" actor also shared that there are many villagers that need urgent help.

"Fulora Foundation has partnered with Ketto and taken up the responsibility of 34 villages in Beed. You can help as well," he wrote and shared a link, sharing information on how people can help.

"All it takes is Rs.2,000 to provide an entire village with water for a day. Let's get together for these parched lands of Maharashtra," added Kunal.
