Congress questions Kher's role in film body


Ranchi, May 18 (IANS): The Congress on Wednesday questioned the appointment of veteran actor Anupam Kher as president of the Technical Advisory Committee to promote filmmaking in Jharkhand.

Kher's appointment was made public on Monday. The committee has been formed to promote shooting of Hindi and other movies in the state.

The government also nominated 11 others in the committee.

"The government has awarded the post to Kher for his good services provided to Prime Minister Narendra Modi," state Congress general secretary Alok Dubey told IANS.

"There are several people from the state who are doing good in Bollywood," he added.
