10 IS suspects detained in Turkey


Ankara, May 18 (IANS): Ten Islamic State (IS) terror group suspects were detained on Wednesday in Turkey's Istanbul city.

Istanbul counter-terrorism police units conducted simultaneous operations across the city earlier in the day, Hurriyet Daily News reported.

Five Syrian-origin IS suspects who were allegedly making preparations for attacks and another five who were assisting the suspects were detained in the operations.

Turkish police issued a confidential warning to provincial police departments in all 81 of the country’s provinces on Monday, warning against imminent attacks by the jihadi group.
