Tamil Nadu bus driver nabbed for screening pirated copy of '24'

Chennai, May 19 (IANS): Members of Nadigar Sangam, led by producer Gnanavel Raja, on Thursday nabbed the driver of a private bus for screening the pirated copy of Suriya-starrer Tamil time-travel thriller "24".

According to producer Raja, the bus, travelling from Dindigul to Chennai, screened the film on Wednesday night.

"We received a tip-off about the film being screened in the bus last night. We alerted the anti-piracy cell and around 5 a.m. earlier today, the police took the driver into custody when the bus had reached its destination in Chennai," Raja told IANS.

"Severe action should be taken against the driver and the bus owner to ensure that such acts are not repeated," Raja said.

Just two days ago, the anti-piracy squad had arrested another bus driver for screening the pirated copy of Udhayanidhi Stalin-starrer Tamil drama "Manithan".
