Take Tehelka Footage as Evidence, Book Riot Guilty: CPI(M)

PTI

New Delhi, Oct 26: Blaming the Narendra Modi government for the 2002 Gujarat communal violence, CPI(M) on Friday said the Tehelka tapes showing “shocking and graphic details” of the massacre should be taken as prima facie evidence and those guilty brought to book expeditiously.

As a number of Gujarat cases were pending before the Supreme Court, the tapes “should be taken as prima facie evidence and the Supreme Court and the central government should move expeditiously to see that all those guilty are brought to justice,” the party politburo said.

In a statement, the party said the centre and the law enforcement agencies have a “special responsibility” in this regard. “The Chief Minister (Narendra) Modi and his government were fully responsible for this gross violation of human rights and subversion of the constitution,” the CPI(M) Said.

Tehelka weekly on Thursday claimed it had “irrefutable” evidence that the killings of Muslims post-Godhra train carnage in Gujarat was “not a spontaneous swell of anger but a genocide” planned and executed by top functionaries of the Sangh Parivar and state authorities “with the sanction” of Modi.

The Tehelka footage has “confirmed what is well known that the 2002 violence in Gujarat was a state-sponsored one”, the CPI (M) said adding the “shocking and graphic details of the massacre of the minority community ... have been brought out by the perpetrators themselves”.

I have not had the opportunity to either meet or see Narendra Modi and nor it is my desire to come into contact with this despicable creature. Please do not be under the impression that I am too excited to meet politicians or be photographed with them. Far from it, unless a politician appears to be an exemplary character. However, how many Indian politicians could be bracketed as "exemplary". The more I see Narendra Modi on the TV News, the more I feel that this character is a sick man and of a mentally unsound mind. I personally feel that he needs psychiatric treatment to cure his nut. This man is a mass murderer and has no sense of remorse. Sadly, the law and order and political situation is so bad and pathetic in the country, I wonder whether if this mental case will be put on a fair trial and punished if found guilty.

The revelations aren't surprising, however gruesome they may be. What is intriguing, however, is the attitude of the BJP's supporters. Not only do some of them defend such acts, but also go to the extent of shooting the messenger for delivering a rather uncomfortable message. Here are people who brag on camera about atrocities that sound disgusting to say the least.

And then there are people atribute motives to the channel, while being mum about actual facts that were shown. Then there are those who go to the extent of taking joy in such acts. I wonder what is it about this party's supporters that they have no problems in being immune to or even defending acts that to a normal human being (whether Hindu, Muslim or christian), sound sick and disgusting. What is it about our country's politics that breed such leaders and such supporters?

First of all, without wasting time authorities should check the authencity of the Tehelka footage and if they are genuine, then everyone involved should be prosecuted, including Narendra Modi, other politicians, IPS officers involved, including P.C. Pande, who being Narendra Modi's poodle has become the DGP of the State by virtue of being Modi's pet poodle and not because of his professional brilliance. Pande has no professional brilliance. Narendra Modi should be treated as a mass murderer. Not only that. Legal actions should be taken against all politicians who have incited violence, instigated riots, etc. in Sikh and other riots, attacks on priests, etc.

Further, Naxalite and extremist menance should be severely dealt with and there should be no peace talks with any groups who can be called separatists.
