Kundapur: Two injured as house roof collapses in thunderstorm

Kundapur, May 20: The initial rain during the last four days has caused damage in many places in Kundapur. In the heavy breeze and rain on Friday morning, the roof of the house of poor family in Gopadi gram came down injuring Ananda Ganiga, eighty years old owner of the house and his daughter’s son nine years old Prajwal. 

 

The incident occurred at about 9 am. Ananda Ganiga, his wife Girija, their daughter and her son Prajwal were in the house.  

All of a sudden the cement sheet on the roof came down.  Ananda Ganiga has a fracture on his leg.  Prajwal has injuries on his hand and legs. 

The injured are admitted to Koteshwara N R Acharya hospital. 

Village Accountant Daniel and Gopadi gram panchayat president Saraswathi G Putran visited the house. 

The loss is estimated to be Rs 50 thousands.
