Six people die as cyclone hits Bangladesh


Dhaka, May 21 (IANS): At least six people died overnight as cyclone Roanu hit the Bangladesh coast.

Over 50 people were injured as gusty winds left hundreds of houses damaged and trees uprooted in the coastal districts of Chittagong, Bhola and Patuakhali, bdnews24.com reported.

The Met office said Roanu will cross the Chittagong coast on Saturday as it started weakening after causing heavy rain.
