Dubai Police arrest boy’s killer 'uncle' within a day

May 24 (Emirates247): A Jordanian man lured a nine-year-old boy of the same nationality to an isolated place, forced him to drink liquor and raped him before strangling him.

Just a day after the heinous crime in Mamzar, police arrested the 48-year-old murderer of Obaida Sidqi after forensic tests showed the boy was brutally killed.

Police found Obaida dead under a tree in Warqa area after the killer tried to get rid of the body to mislead investigators.

“He lured the boy to that area and gave him alcoholic drink before strangling him…examination also showed that he raped him,” said Major-General Khamis Matar Al Mazinah, Dubai Police Commander-in-Chief.

Quoted by Emarat Al Youm and other newspapers, Mazinah said the boy’s father reported his absence from near his garage in the industrial zone in Dubai on Friday.

He said police searched for that Jordanian man after he was seen with the boy before the murder, adding that the killer is a friend of Obaida’s father.

According to the Major-General Khalil Al Mansouri, Assistant Police Commander-in-Chief the killer confessed to committing the crime and that he managed to tempt the boy by telling him he would buy him a scooter.

“When the boy refused to take all his clothes off, he hit him and used a head cover to strangle him. He then continued to have liquor until Saturday dawn,” he said.

“He then went to his house in Sharjah with the dead boy lying in the back seat. In the morning, he got rid of the body.”
