UAE, Oct 29: `Emirates Vision’ in joint collaboration with India Times and Femina Miss India to select 2 girls of Indian Nationality residing in UAE for a direct entry of participation, as a contestant in the Femina Miss India 2008 to be held in India, informed a press release here.
According to the release the scouting for the contestants would take place on November 4th, 2007, in Dubai. Those interested may send their details by email with photographs, vital Static’s & contact numbers by 30th October 2007 on john@emiratesevents.com or contact – 04 3460040 / 050 6450629.
The requisites for the contestants are as follows:
• Height – 5’7” (170cms)
• Nationality – Indian’s residing in UAE
• Marital Status – Unmarried
• Age Limit –18 – 23yrs
Brief Information on ‘Femina Miss India’:
Femina Miss India began in the year 1965 and since then is an annual, national beauty pageant held in India. Moreover, it has been consistently associated with the elegance and gracefulness of women. Femina Miss India competition initially began as a small, closed-off event but gradually acquired local license to the international Miss Universe competition, Miss World and the Miss Asia-Pacific Quest.
Later it finally picked up the license for Miss International. There are a couple of pageants for Indian women to show their talent, but the Femina Miss India Pageant is the oldest and the most glamorous in the country. The Times of India group has a tradition of over four decades of conducting the only credible beauty pageant for women, Femina Miss India in all its classiness and grandeur.
The concept of the Femina Miss India pageant has changed considerably, since the time it first began. The focus now has shifted from finding the prettiest face in the country to getting a set of women having a level of finesse and class required to contend internationally, informed the release. Every year Femina Miss India receives over 5000 entries. A jury panel comprising of experts sieves through each of these entries and narrows down on 25 contestants – each outstanding than the other.
