SC allows Italian Marine to return home

Bengaluru, May 26 (Agencies): The Supreme Court today allowed Salvatore Girone's plea seeking relaxation of bail conditions, to enable him to return to Italy. His request was supported by the Government on humanitarian grounds.

Two Italian marines, Massimiliano Latorre and Salvatore Girone are facing charges of murdering two fishermen in 2012 off the Kerala coast. Latorre was allowed to return to Italy after a stroke in 2014 while Girone is staying at the Italian embassy in New Delhi.

Italy asserts that the incident took place in international waters and, therefore, the Marines should be tried in Italy or in an international court. India, however, maintains that it can try them because it says the killings happened in coastal waters under Indian jurisdiction and the victims were Indians.

A UN arbitration tribunal had earlier ruled in favour of Girone, held in India on murder charges, by allowing him to return home pending the arbitration proceedings at the Hague.

The Supreme Court last year suspended all court proceedings against the duo in pursuance of an interim order of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) asking India to maintain "status quo" in the case.

    This is called double standards.

When supreme court allowed one of the marine Latorre to travel back to Italy in 2014 for medical treatment whole hell broke out. Your same BJP leaders accused Sonia and UPA for favouring Italian government though it was a court decision.

How come you did a somersault now?

Jamini.... who says Central Govt doesn't have power over SC? Well our esteemed PM proved it again. During his visit to Italy, he had a clear understanding with Italian Government - you implicate Gandhi family in Augusta scam and I will let go of your 2 naval officers implicated in death of 2 Indian fishermen. Don't you think, both have kept their promises and in both cases, our esteemed PM sold our moral values? I am sorry, but let us all remember, there is more to come. The state of India will be reduced to a third rate, third world country sooner than you think

    Abhyankar,

Here is a small excerpt of reference news (dated 24.02.2014), when BJP was not in power :

    Quote
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Monday accused the central government of meekly giving in to pressure from Italy in the case of its marines who killed two Indian fishermen.

"The government has meekly succumbed under pressure from Italy," said BJP leader Ravishankar Prasad said.

The comment comes as the central government Monday told the Supreme Court that it was not invoking the anti-piracy law against the two marines.

"India is finding it difficult to resist pressure from Italy. Here is a case where Indian fishermen have been killed and government is securing relief for them... This is regrettable, we demand government comes out with all facts," Prasad said.
    Unquote

Please tell me, who is putting pressure on Supreme court today to release the Marine ? Why BJP is not displaying similar enthusiasm that was there in 2014 to stop SC from releasing the Marine ?

They have reached a point of no return - now it is only "Come what may" for them.
    Everything by hook or crook.

I have been telling about their house in charge complaining of exorbitant price hikes for essential commodities especially Dal. BJP has been promising to import dal to offset high prices. Latest they are still negotiating for a shipload!!!
And in their 2 year progress report it is said inflation at it's lowest!!! Beans Veg. in B'lore sells presently @ Rs.200\- and so also other veg. etc, sold at high prices. Reason shortage - hoarding.
At least open your eyes my dear andh bhakts, believe your house in charge and check your savings account of last 2 years. Balance is down to nearing ZERO!!!
Wake up, Open your eyes and ears to sound reasoning and ask present Government to stop lying and work for the good of people who voted them.
Modi's famous Jan Dhan Scheme - it is said being misused by miscreants and hardly operated by account holders.
Most of them opened account under this scheme hoping to get the promised 15Lacs promised during election time!!!!!

Well, this is what many of you accused her of so far - didn't you ? Now, recall what Chris Michel (British agent of AugustsWestland) foretold - he said if Modi releases him, Modi's truce with Italina PM in the US will be confirmed. If he doesn't release him, Italy can make public the meeting !

See the laurels of you 56" chest-bearer, hero son of Bharat Maatha - see ! Are you prepared to watch him bartering many of your life (as did two Keralite fishermen) through this able son of India ???

But, its opposite !
