Mumbai, May 26 (IANS): The Aavishkaar-Intellecap Group on Thursday inducted Arun Maira, former Planning Commission member, and Kiran Karnik, former president, NASSCOM and former director, Central Board of Directors at RBI, into its group advisory council (GAC).

According to the group, the GAC will advise and guide it to sharpen its focus on its stated vision of building businesses for the other three billion people -- those in developing countries who are unconnected and underserved -- as Aavishkaar-Intellecap Group scales up its operations in Asia and Africa and makes its presence felt in North America.

“Our purpose is to balance the idea of scale with the returns we generate for society. It is a challenging task; while you are scaling you need wisdom that can question your assumptions and push you to search deeper to seek new answers,” Vineet Rai, founder of the Aavishkaar-Intellecap Group and chair of the group executive council said.

“Arun and Kiran have great wisdom to offer as leaders and doers and we will benefit from their knowledge as we build an institution that respects humanity and does business inclusively,” he added.
