Key Indian equity indices open higher


Mumbai, May 27 (IANS): Key Indian equity market indices opened higher on Friday following global cues.

The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) was trading 87.16 points or 0.33 percent up during the early session.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 23.40 points or 0.29 percent higher at 8,093.05 points.

The BSE Sensex, which opened at 26,415.93 points, was trading at 26,453.84 points (at 9.18 a.m.) in the early session, higher 87.16 points or 0.33 percent from the previous day's close at 26,366.68 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 26,501.11 points and a low of 26,405.28 points in the trade so far.
