Mamata Banerjee takes oath as West Bengal CM for second time


May 27 (Agencies):TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee, who led her party to a huge victory in the assembly elections, took oath to begin her second stint as Chief Minister today.

An elaborate security cover has been thrown with around 1,000 policemen keeping a hawk eye on Red Road. This is for the first time that a chief minister will take oath on Red Road.

17 new faces, including Kolkata Mayor Shovan Chatterjee, former Indian cricketer Laxmi Ratan Shukla and singer Indranil Sen will be part of the 42-member ministry.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Union Minister Piyush Goyal and chief ministers Arvind Kejriwal, Akhilesh Yadav and Nitish Kumar of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and industrialist Mukesh Ambani were present at the swearing-in ceremony.
