Fire breaks out in Delhi plastic factory, guard injured


New Delhi, May 27 (IANS): A 47-year-old security guard suffered critical burn injuries in a fire in a plastic factory in south Delhi on Friday, Delhi Fire Service (DFS) said.

The incident was reported around 7.45 a.m. from Naraina industrial area. 

A fire service official said 12 fire tenders took around one and a half hours to douse the flames. 

Security guard Jitender Kumar from Bihar suffered burn injuries while he was cooking food on the ground floor of the three-storey factory. 

"Jitender Kumar was rushed to Safdarjung Hospital with 70 percent burn injuries," the official said.
