BJP leader again threatens strong-arm tactics against TMC men

Kolkata, May 30 (IANS): BJP's West Bengal unit president Dilip Ghosh on Monday again threatened to use strong-arm tactics against Trinamool Congress supporters if the ruling party did not end attacks on BJP workers in the state.

"If the attacks don't stop, I will do exactly what I have said," Ghosh said after taking oath as a legislator here.

Blaming the Trinamool again for the post-poll violence, Ghosh said the situation has not changed despite him seeking the intervention of Governor K.N. Tripathi and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for an end to "political brutality".

Ghosh defeated Congress veteran Gyan Singh Sohanpal in Kharagpur Sadar constituency in the recent assembly polls.

Speaking at a protest rally in his constituency on May 28, Ghosh threatened to beat up Trinamool Congress leaders inside their houses and break their necks with bare hands.

Ghosh had also warned of meting out third-degree treatment to all those who voted for the ruling party in his constituency.

On May 23, the BJP leader warned Trinamool's members of parliament and legislators of tough times if they stepped out of Bengal.

"... if the atrocities do not stop, we will cross all limits... their Lok Sabha MPs will have to go to Delhi. We will see how they return from Delhi," Ghosh said.
