Gujarat BJP leader arrested for 'molesting' minor girl on board IndiGo flight

Ahmedabad, May 31 (IT) : The Sardarnagar Police in Gujarat today arrested a BJP leader for allegedly molesting a 13-year-old girl aboard an IndiGo flight.

On May 28, the victim, a 13-year old girl, was returning home from her uncle's home in Goa after her summer vacation, on an IndiGo flight.

BJP leader Ashok Makwana from Gandhinagar was seated on by her side.

Makwana is said to have allegedly molested the teenager on the flight.

After reaching home, the girl narrated her plight to her parents and they lodged a formal complaint at the Sardarnagar Police station.
Makwana was arrested today and has been sent for medical examination.

Investigative officer BD Patel said, "We arrested the accused on the basis of travel documents collected from the airline."

The victim is said to be the daughter of the vice-president of a corporate firm.
