Shah Rukh Khan bats for 'edutainment' at KidZania

Noida, Jun 1 (IANS): Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who considers himself an "over-indulgent father", played and interacted with a few children here at KidZania, an indoor theme park aimed at spreading 'edutainment'.

Shah Rukh cheerfully participated with the children in the role of a professional fire fighter. While some children joined him for the activity, several of them leaned against the barricades trying to get one glimpse of 'King Khan'.

For the 50-year-old-actor, who has a 26 per cent share in KidZania, it was "true joy" to be able to see such "happy faces". He said he is "proud" to be associated with a place, which not just entertains but also educates children in an innovative way.

"As a father, it gives me great pride to offer other families this wonderful opportunity to allow their children to learn the ways of the real world in a fun and exciting environment.

"Our priority is to create a safe and fun environment to introduce values such as financial literacy, responsibility and dignity of labour to children. Now we have two KidZania centres in India and I commit to open the next one in south India," he said.

KidZania opened its doors in Delhi-NCR on May 26. The first was launched in Mumbai in 2013.

Taking the launch celebrations to a new level, he drove around in a specially designed KidZania fire truck. He then asked his young fans to join him up on stage to share their dream professions and encouraged them to explore that dream at KidZania, which offers multiple role playing activities.

There was a ramp show too, where some chidren were dressed in their future dream avatars.
