Muscat, Jun 1: The Mangalorean Catholic Centre of the Parish, here, Sultanate of Oman is gearing up to celebrate its 24th annual day in a grand manner on Friday June 3 at Ruwi Parish Hall.

It has been the tradition that the annual day is the culminating programme for the current executive committee and a new committee will be elected on this day to carry forward the torch of MCCP to the next year. So Team 24, the executive committee of MCCP for the year 2015-16 headed by John Gonsalves, intends to sign off with their unique style and panache.

The day’s proceeding will start off with Konkani high mass at 7.00 am at Sts Peter & Paul Church parish hall, Ruwi and the cultural programme is scheduled at 11.45 am at the same venue. The highlight of the programme is a humorous, social Konkani play 'Bholaikechen Vokoth' enacted by Team 24. The play is written and directed by Peter Fernandes. Major sponsors and key supporters will be felicitated and many other kinds of entertainment planned to keep the audience enthralled.

Team 24 keeping in mind its theme for the year 'Malgadyank Maan, Kutmanth Samadhan' has sent out a call to all senior / family members who are 60 years or above to attend this programme. The president, John Gonsalves said that they will be treated as special guests for the day. He appealed for maximum participation by registering their names with the EC in advance.

As is customary, the new executive committee for the year 2016-17 will be elected on this day. The next year being the silver jubilee year of MCCP, expectations are very high among the community members. It will be interesting to see who will finally shoulder the responsibility of leading MCCP in its 25th year.

All this and more will be happening at the high-voltage, fast-paced programme which is expected to end by 4.30 pm.
