Spanish unemployment falls below 4 mn since 2010


Madrid, June 2 (IANS): The number of registered unemployed people in Spain fell by 119,768 in May, bringing it below four million for the first time since August 2010, officials data released on Thursday showed.

The data, released by the Ministry of Employment and Social Security, put the number of registered unemployed people at 3,891,403, EFE news reported.

The drop is the largest decline in May since the statistics of unemployment began in 1996.

In the last 12 months, the number of unemployed people has fallen by 323,628.

The unemployment rate went down by 7.68 percent in May on year-by-year basis.
