Beltangady, Jun 3: In a tragic incident which happened at Arambody Baraya on Thursday June 2, a youth chose to end his life by hanging himself from a tree. The village where this incident took place is located within the limits of Venoor police station.
Keshava Shettigar (35), son of Baraya Manjappa Shettigar, a building contractor by profession, killed himself in this way.
Shettigar had married a girl from Konaje about two months back. A house he was constructing was nearing completion. No clear leads could be got about reasons which forced the youth to commit suicide. Venoor police sub-inspector, Lolaksha K and staff visited the village and registered a case.
