Kundapur: Motor bike knocks down pedestrian to death

Kundapur, Jun 5:  A pedestrian who was hit by a motor bike near Tekkatte bus stand in the taluk on national highway 66 lost his life. The incident occurred on Saturday June 4 morning.

Seetaram Shetty (80), retired general manager of Vishveshwaraya Iron and Steel Ltd, Bhadravathi and a native of Shiriyara near Tekkatte, was the victim of this accident.

Shetty was returning home after having breakfast at a hotel near Tekkatte bus stand as was his routine, when a motor bike that was moving at high speed towards Kundapur from the direction of Udupi hit him forcefully, eyewitnesses said.

Shetty, who fell to the road with considerable force, sustained grave injuries to his head. He died on the spot. A case about the accident was registered in Kota police station.

It is gathered that Shetty, a simple human being, also was functioning as private labour lawyer. He has left behind wife, a son, and a daughter.
