Ronit Roy plans to go behind the camera soon

Mumbai, June 5 (IANS): Actor Ronit Roy, who is reprising his role as the protagonist in season two of TV show “Adaalat”, says he is 'in talks' with a channel for a project, and if everything falls into place, it can pave his way to go behind the camera as a director or a producer.

"When I do that (project with the TV channel), my graduation or attempt to becoming a director or a producer will happen automatically...Till that happens I am going to stay away from daily soaps,” Ronit told IANS.

The actor added: “In my experience when someone else is doing it (directing a TV show), what I hear on the outset is different from where I find myself after a month's telecast.”

The actor refrained from giving out any information about the project, but said he will be driving the show.

He said: “I have spoken to the channel in discussion and they have agreed that I drive the show since I will be putting my money where my mouth is. They are okay with me driving it.”

Having worked in TV shows like “Kasautii Zindagi Kay”, “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi” and after earning critical acclaim for his roles in films like “Udaan”, “Ugly” and “Guddu Rangeela”, the 50-year-old feels that there are a lot of talented people on TV who also believe that television content has become "regressive".

On the small screen, Ronit is essaying the role of a lawyer in the new season of the Sony Entertainment Television show "Adaalat".
