Two youth drown in Yamuna in Delhi


New Delhi, June 5 (IANS): Two youth were drowned in the Yamuna here on Sunday while taking a bath in the river, police said.

According to police, the youth, identified as Aman and Prince and aged between 17 to 20 years, had gone to take a bath in the river in Wazirabad area on Sunday afternoon.

"While taking bath, both of them slipped into deep waters, following which the locals raised the alarm but could not save them," a senior police official said, adding: "We received a call around around 3.35 p.m. that two youths have been drowned in Yamuna."

Deputy Commissioner of Police Madhur Verma told IANS that both were residents of Jagatpur village in north Delhi, and efforts were on to recover the bodies.
