Black money a key issue, says Modi in Geneva


Geneva, June 6 (IANS): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said to combat the issue of black money and tax evasion was an important issue for India and Switzerland.

"Combating menace of black money and tax evasion is a key issue for our countries," Modi said here during a joint news conference with Switzerland President Johann Schneider-Ammann.

Earlier the two leaders met after Modi landed in the Swiss city from the Qatar capital of Doha. The Indian prime minister is on a five-nation tour that has already taken him to Afghanistan and Qatar. 

He will be in the US on Tuesday, during which he will meet President Barack Obama in the White House.
