Bengaluru, Jun 9: Bhagya (29), who was residing near Nanjundeshwara Kalyana Mandir on Kongadiyappa College Road, Doddaballapur, committed suicide by hanging herself on the evening of Tuesday June 7. As per information, she said in a death note left behind that she had decided to end her life, having been hurt after the lover she had reposed faith on was found to be fake.

In the past, Bhagya was working for a garments factory near Yalahanka for a few years. During this period, she fell in love with a youth named Kiran, who reciprocated her love. He had promised to marry her, and collected about Rs 5,000 every month from her for about one and half years when she worked there, with the promise of investing this money for cementing their future.

She had stopped working two years ago. Recently Kiran told her that his family had fixed his marriage with another girl, duly advising her to find a suitable match for herself.

Hurt by this development, Bhagya locked the front door of her home, entered it from the rear door on Tuesday evening, and hanged herself. Before ending her life, she wrote on the walls and in the death note, that the person who was responsible for her death should be punished.

The incident came to light after family members returned home late evening. Policemen of Doddaballapur station registered a case and began investigation.
